While the English version of Legend of Heroes: Trails of the Sky is slated to come out this month, Falcom recently announced a sequel to the PSP title Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki (translated to Trails of Zero), titled Legend of Heroes: Trails of Blue.

According to a recent Dengeki PlayStation article (translated by Andriasang.com), the game's story starts off a number of months after the events of the first game. Prequel character Lloyd Bannings will be the main character in this installment. Other characters returning include Elie, Tio, Sergei, Randy, Noel Seeker, Wazy Hemisphere, Cao Lee, and Olivier. Falcom claims that the concept of the game is to "deliver the top climax in Legend of Heroes history."

As far as gameplay goes, Legend of Heroes: Trails of Blue will use a revised version of the Orbment system in Zero no Kiseki, in which magic items called "quartzes" are allocated by the player onto individual party member slots to determine the type of powerful spells they can cast. Like the previous games, the core strategic battle system is the same, albeit with a few tweaks. Players can also skip over elaborate attack animations.

The game is slated for release on September 29 in Japan and comes in both standard and limited edition. The limited edition will feature Tio and Ellie Nendoroid figures and will only be available as preorders.
