Legend of Heroes continues

More PSP RPG action on the way as Namco confirms Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch for release this summer.

The PSP is barely over a year old in the US, but Falcom has already worked on three full-scale role-playing games for the system. Konami published the latest in the company's biggest series, Ys: The Ark of Napishtim, while Bandai put out The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion last November. Now the merged company Namco Bandai has announced that it will be bringing Falcom's third PSP role-playing game, The Legend of Heroes II: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch, to the US this summer.

While the game is a sequel to Legend of Heroes, players won't be controlling the same heroes. Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch follows childhood friends Chris and Jurio on a quest that starts out small, but winds up with the fate of the world in the balance. The game will once again feature the "pet system" and turn-based role-playing action.

No pricing or rating information for the game has yet been announced.

Namco and Bandia combined?!?!? i can only hope that this turns out to be a good game. There was a game that they made for Japan only that i really wanted to play. I believed it was called Namco/Capcom with all the Namco characters and all the Capcom characters in it from way back in the day. I really wanted to play it and now i am sad that it isn't coming stateside. :(

Considering that the lack of RPGs, the overwhelming of sports and racing titles. The first game was pretty decent, had it debuted on SNES, people would worship it.

Falcom don't make unique RPGs, they make good RPGs :) They take old concepts and make them great, anyone who has played Ys and etc knows that :) I liked LoH 1 for the PSP, still not finished with it, but it has awesome sound and nice graphics, also I like the dialogue, how it's written, it's kinda special in a way :)

Summer... wow, that's quick. I'm definetely looking forward to it. I really enjoyed the previous one. I do hope they fix the collision detection, though.

I loved the first one, you didn't really have to do anything, but I liked the story, like a sort of very slow movie :D. No I'm serious, I really wanna play this game.

Haven't played the first one, but this may be a good reason to finally check it out. The only PSP RPG I've played is PoPoLoCrois, which I'm enjoying quite a bit despite its overt simplicity.

Unless this sequel is a heck of a lot better than the 1st one, then this is a lost cause.

Action based RPGs and games revolving around gameplay FTW.

Finally, I can play it in english! Though, most people here don't realise, that this game is infact, LOH 3, with Tear of Vermillion being LOH 4(though, 3 takes place after 4) and then there's the 5th one, which name escapes me. LOH 1 and 2, were released for the Turbo Grafx ages ago, though, LOH 2 never got a US release, so, yeah, I'm still waiting on an english patch, or a remake of that. I've gotten far in it, but, it'd be nice to play it in english. Anyways, I'm surprised they're releasing LOH 3 next instead of LOH 5, since apparently there are some pretty long load times to take care of. Hopefully they'll tweak them somehow. But I hear the story is fantastic, and I'm not kidding!

I really, really wish they'd port Legend of Heroes VI: Sora no Kiseki (in English!). That game is great. I'd buy a PSP specifically for that game.

I got the first one for Christmas, I really liked it. It's not that epic or anything like Final Fantasy games, but it's good none the less. I'll definitely pick this one up.

"Childhood friends on a quest that unexpectedly involves the fate of the world? Revolutionary!" Remember it was originally released in 1995 -1996 on PC

Well I am happy to see there will be more RPG's coming out on the PSP. THat is one reason it has not been doing well most of the RPG's stink and I hope this will be a good one. THe more games that come out for the PSP the happier my PSP will be.

Anyone who had PC-Engine CD(Turbo Duo) and had Ys Book I&II and Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys knows that Falcom are gods of JRPGs. Recently most if not all of their games usually come to PC first and in Japan only, then they get ported by other companies like Bandai and Konami to consoles and handhelds, usually loosing in quality. Legend of Heroes VI: Sora no Kiseki for PC is easily the best RPG to be relealsed within last five or six years. I don`t really see why they are bringing LoH2 to the US, when much more superior LoH 3: Shiroki Majo is available for PSP in Japan since the launch of the console.
