Legacy Interactive, creator of the Real Life Games series, has announced that it has acquired the rights to develop a new game based on the popular television drama Law & Order. According to Legacy, the game, which will be called Law & Order Interactive, will focus on all the twists and turns of criminal investigation and courtroom drama. Some of the cast members from the television series, including Jerry Orbach (Detective Lennie Briscoe), S. Epatha Merkerson (Lieutenant Anita Van Buren), and Elisabeth Rohm (Assistant DA Serena Southerlyn) will play a role in the production of the game. In addition, two screenwriters from the series wrote some of the cases that will be featured in the game.

Players will begin the game as a detective on the streets of Manhattan, gathering evidence and interrogating suspects. They will then assume the role of prosecutor in the court case and work toward a conviction. The game will include realistic 3D graphics and animation. Law & Order Interactive is scheduled for release in 2002, and it will be distributed by Vivendi Universal Publishing.
