Layoffs at 2K Marin
BioShock 2, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified developer implements "staff reductions" reported to total the "majority" of the team.
BioShock 2 and The Bureau: XCOM Declassified developer 2K Marin today underwent "staff reductions" that are reported to total the "majority" of the team.
"We can confirm staff reductions at 2K Marin. While these were difficult decisions, we regularly evaluate our development efforts and have decided to reallocate creative resources," a 2K representative told Polygon. "Our goal to create world-class video game titles remains unchanged."
Polygon has heard from one source who said that the "majority" of 2K Marin has been let go. The only staffers unaffected by the cuts are supposedly those who are leaving to join the new 2K studio being led by former Gears of War and BioShock: Infinite producer Rod Fergusson.
Yet another source told the site that they are "100 percent sure" that 2K Marin, as it is currently known, is closed.
