A few weeks ago you had a chance to find out why GameSpot moderates content on the site. The latest open moderation discussion gives you the opportunity to discover what happens behind the scenes when GameSpot staff and moderators stumble upon abuse. Find out how we take into consideration who the user is to GameSpot. We also have a way for you to do your own moderation checkup. This moderation checkup activity will give you a chance to encounter what staff and mods have to go through on a daily basis. You can also share your feedback about the process we use in the discussion! We hope you can take a moment to delve into the minds of staff and mods!
@OmegaAxl: My PM inbox is quite full at the moment - need to catch up on it soon. No worries. I wish I could be everywhere and know everything that happens, it might have taken me longer to alert staff about the problem. Thanks for doing what you could to grab my attention.
@JodyR I apologize, This was the best area for me to catch your attention, I thought you wouldn't respond to a PM, I'll send you a PM concerning the issue.
@OmegaAxl: Hey there, I'm not sure how your concern has anything to do with the moderation procedures for this community announcement. . If there is a tech support forum discussion that hasn't been responded to by other staff, please send me the link to the discussion and I'll share the concern with staff. Thanks. :)
@00-Riddick-00: Looks like you should read the first link that was provided, which answers your question. http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=27561931
Honestly I think mods need to be gone altogether, What is the point of freedom of speech if we cannot say what we want when we want?
@Sanim02 I kinda agree with your kind of agreeing with SolidTy. Capos in Gamespot would help a great deal in regulating the forums, and I'm sure they wouldn't abuse the power like some moderators.
@SolidTy I kinda agree on that statement. Nowadays most of the mods hardly ever participate with the community and when they do, it's very seldom.:? I don't hate on the idea of enforcers because mods obviously need a backbone but as the enforcers of the forums it would be nice to see them post and communicate with us instead of having low post counts and just... I don't know lurk?:? Any who, my two cents as well.:) Hope I don't get thumb downed just because I had an opinion.:P
SolidTy: Thanks for the feedback, but it's important to know how I am taking your comment here. You and I both know that you're upset over a moderation for a blog invasion moderation done to another user. It's rather unfortunate that you're accusing volunteer moderators when an admin requested that suspension. Prior to inviting new moderators to come aboard the checklist includes whether or not that user interacts in the main boards. If you'd like to resolve this doubt, check our last moderator draft by viewing these imod's forum contributions - comments interaction is also investigated.
