Latest Battlefield 4 PC patch out now

Offers fixes for general stability and a memory leak, as well as other tweaks.

The latest patch for the PC version of Battlefield 4 is being rolled out now.

The patch should be applied automatically, but can be triggered manually from the "check for updates" screen found by right-clicking on Battlefield 4 from the Origin client.

Included in the latest patch are various fixes for "general stability," a plugged memory leak, and normalized repair rates across all vehicles.

The release of the PC patch should be the first of a wave of Battlefield 4 patches across multiple platforms, with DICE saying last week these platforms should receive patches throughout January.

DICE's full patch notes for the Battlefield 4 January 13 PC update are below:

So I'm playing right now. Basically, they patched ballistics issues and hit detect problems - SLIGHTLY - instead of the lag and the god awful positionreporting.

No thanks, no one even plays this trash anymore. I'm done complaining, me and my clan have flat out quit playing this game permanently. In favor of DayZ, no less - just examine that state of affairs there. We quit BF4 to play an early alpha. Not much of a difference - Bohemia can at least admit it's alpha.

yet Dice doesn't have the time to change 5 lines of code to revert this stupid FOV design change...

it only affects PC gamers. it is a poorly thought out change which brings total imbalance, and unfriendly to those with motion sickness from low FOV. ridiculous issue to have. page 72 dice finally had a rep say it will be fixed in future but not soon.

5 lines of code... wait for it!

I hope this once and for all eliminates my client crashing very often at the end of a match, before a new map is loaded.  This is the only persisting issue that is affecting my enjoyment of the game at this point!

I wonder when the PS4 patch will come out. Hopefully eliminating lag and rubber-banding is high on their list of priorities. Tried playing it for a few days between Christmas and New Year and it was extremely bad (in terms of lag).

they didn´t fix any of the major problems, they probably don´t even know how to fix them.

I haven't played this since launch, hopefully when I get back into it, all problems will be fixed.

Another "quality" game from EA

And to think that with just a decent amount of testing, most of these issues could have been ironed out before launch.

Nice to see the game is almost out of Pre-Alpha now.

And more apologists have come marching forward to sing EA's praises at .39 a word, to help all the problems magically go away with PR.

Life is good on the Battlefield.

Game has worked fine for me since I got a new graphics card and then the December 20th patch. However the server tick rate and model hitbox issues are still somewhat of a pain from time to time.

this game isn't as bad as people make out, ive play it for hours on end and the only thing I find that is a little annoying are the drop outs, every now and then you'll be playing normally and then the game will just lose connection, but even so this mostly happens at the switch between matches so you lose nothing and even if it does happen during a match you don't lose your score.

It is a little annoying yes but you can just join another game within a minute.

I do get frame rate dips also but that's when those big buildings fall down and its not every time.

Ive enjoyed many hours playing this game and it is good fun, you can hate me for enjoying a game if you want.

I think you may as well have just re-released the fucking thing. Why the hell would you release it so early in such a shit state?

I thought BF3 was a load of over hyped shit. BF4 was overhyped shit (due to the building falling over) AND it has taken months for them to finish the game due to it being largely broken.

FPSs are boring to me at the moment, broken FPSs are not even considered. This on the other hand is a FPS, broken AND made by EA. Unbelievable how shit they have become really.

I waited for the price to drop and bought just before xmas. Having fun on the game so far and the problems can be largely ignored. However... I don't think paying nearly £100 for the game and the premium content is value for money. EA will need to offer some kind of deal to get more people to buy into this because as it stands, BF4 is probably the last iteration of the series that many gamers will play.

Guys don’t play this game now.

EA pushed DICE too far on this one.

They did not have enough time to make this game.

BF3 got under control pretty fast because it was also a bit buggy but not nearly as BF4.

Buy BF4 in a year from now.

It’s the best thing to do if you want to play this game.

It's good job I'm skipping this game for PC. I'll buy Titanfall instead.

I'm really looking forward to some substantial class balancing, but I suppose while they're still trying to make the game actually fucking run it's too much to expect the gameplay to improve.... £55, October... now January & the games still infuriating to play.

@wowgrandpaArtillery strikes are the worst suppression in this game now, it's like they just tripled up on the effect and range of them since taking away from rifles and pistols. I hate all the spineless maggots who just accept and claim that the game is working perfectly, it's atrocious that we've had (how many patches since release?) and it still doesn't work. Or maybe their game testers are complete rubbish.

@wowgrandpa The fact that they put in that fan "EA is evil" video made me crack up. I didn't realize the "I broke" guys did serious videos.

@Razor10000 It's awesome how they won't even acknowledge the netcode issues. I'm getting close to just giving up on this game.
