L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition coming to consoles

Double dip of Rockstar's period detective caper including all DLC hits Xbox 360 and PS3 next month.

Good cops don't play favorites, and neither does Rockstar. L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition was announced for the PC last month, and the publisher announced today that consoles will also be receiving the full experience offered by the game's various pieces of downloadable content on November 15 in the US, with a European launch following November 18.

Rockstar is letting console gamers get the whole story at once.

L.A. Noire shipped alongside a variety of downloadable preorder bonuses and subsequently received paid DLC that added new cases, challenges, weapons, and outfits. All of these will be rolled into one package with The Complete Edition.

L.A. Noire follows Cole Phelps, a detective entangled in a violent web of vice, corruption, and crime in 1947 Los Angeles. Players jump into the seedy underworld of the metropolis and are tasked with solving a series of murders and other criminal offenses, ranging from arson and drug trafficking to racketeering.

And game publishers wonder why gamers like me are waiting 6-24 months (or more) to buy their new games instead of rushing to the store on day 1....

@Freezezzy: Perhaps, theres always room for a GOTY. If the DLC I just mentioned is true in my comment. Then its less money to spend for the people that bought "the complete edition" then for the people who actually owned the game when it came out.

I think there should be a law for game packages, one that requires a label that shows how much of the actual game we're getting. Like the way they display nutrition info on cereal boxes now, right on the front. "This game contains 76% of actual content. Additional content sold seperately."

@Thug2Wasteland If they do, then what'll the next version of the game be called? The REALLY Complete Edition?

@zzamaro wow and that really matters right? cause ur too lazy to go and change the disc after like 6 hours

Well, that was quick. Too bad my interest evaporated long ago after hearing how disappointing the game was.

I can't let a story abot LA Noire go past without making my feelings clear... This game/interactive movie sucks! All the motion capture in the world can't disguise the fact. Don't waste your time or money. Buy a good game instead.

So we can now buy a game with what probably should have been on the disc in the first place? Awesome.

I get the anger towards DLC and while I dont totally agree with day 1 or just after content it's take it or leave it for me. I bought the game on day 1 bought he dlc or pass for $11 bucks and I've just completed the game. I've not checked the stats but I completed it 100 percent and it took me many hours to do and it's 5 months since release. For the sake of $11 bucks I'm not sure what the fuss is. Buy it early + dlc costing $11 or wait five months and buy at a lower cost and save $10 bucks? I know times are tough but arguing over $10 bucks spread across 5 months.........come on people really?? I know it's the whole DLC principle thing but it your right to choose. If you're a fan you'll buy it early if not you'll wait it out and try later when it's cheaper. BF3 next week for example, there is no way in he'll I'm waiting for that To drop in price and I'll gladly buy all the dlc as I'll get my money's worth with the +500 hrs I'll eventually dump in to the mp. I guess it's the old adage give them an inch they'll take a mile, we accept dlc now we'll pay more later as the dev's give us less.

@XeonForce I could not agree more!! FIRST releasing DLC so early after the games release screams 'we could have put it on the disk' and then SECOND! Releasing a 'Complete edition' literally less than 6 months after its release date screams 'cash in'. I love you Rockstar, but there was not enough DLC in L.A. Noire either worth buying or in the amount of packs released. Usually 'complete editions' or 'goty editions' with all DLC is worth it such as Borderlands, Fallout or even GTA IV - this on the other hand is just not worth it. If I bought L.A. Noire on release date I would feel highly frustrated that Rockstar has released this less than 6 months later. It is nice to know the game I bought back in June was the 'incomplete edition' - Maybe they should have written that on the box? I guess I know for next time.

Second-hand sales and piracy are detrimental to new game sales says publishers; what the don't realize is how badly they are shooting themselves in the foot pulling this junk on loyal consumers. If I am sure a game is going to release DLC in the near future, I do not buy the game. This LA Noire "complete" edition just furthers my cause. It's only been like 6 months since the game came out, it's so ironic it hurts. :|

SO not buying it... the black dahlia murder case's ending ruined the game for me XD there was so much tension in the air, and it ended like that -.- the biggest disappointment i've had in a videogame...

I'm never gonna buy any game that will have single player DLC's on launch day ever again. It pays to wait for the GOTY edition or whatnot edition that'll come out a few months or a year later. I will not support this corporate greediness!

They are just fooling people who bought the game when it came out first , most developers already working on D.L.C.s even before the actual product is out. This is ridiculous. We must be vigilant and persistent to not to give into this D.L.C. Malarkey. I for one still haven't bought Starcraft although i am dying to play it because it has a sentimental value for me not because i think it's the ultimate best R.T.S. out there, and Blizzard knows this too.I am not going to but 1/3 or 2/3 of a game for a what is supposed to be "full game" in the first place.Like Dragon Age Origins D.L.C.s which were merely lasting 30 minutes to 1 hour.God knows we could make some of those D.L.C.s if there was an Editor Tool that came with it. Bought both Oblivion and Fallout after complete editions came out. Unfortunately i can't do the same for Skyrim because someone already got me it pre-ordered as a gift. They don't even show the courtesy of giving one or two DLCs free to people who pre-oredered their games. Don't buy D.L.C.s , Resist Brothers and Sisters! Message is clear DON'T BUY D.L.C.s. Keep You Games D.L.C. Free.

@garland51 Exactly,a strong message needs to be send,I almost never bought a DLC in my life, and I will continue doing so.We ourselves let the gaming industry become to greedy by accepting all crap they threw on use, like this DLC madness,Online passes, extreme milking of franchises, etc with almost no fight. Im saddened every time I see someone trying to justify Online Pass. Its impossible, all industries must deal with second hand sales, yet none has been destroyed or severely damaged by it,right? If they want to fight second hand market, they should make games with lasting appeal that you wouldnt want to trade in quickly(personally I have no experience with that second hand stuff,Im a PC gamer, but I know how rotten the system has become, and console gamers should fight it).

L.A. Noire is a great game. I had to trade it in due to financial woes (thankfully I was able to finish it first), but now that the complete edition is coming out it gives me an excellent reason to pick it up again. For the record I'm in agreement with those of you that are saying wait for the "game of the year", "gold", "complete", or (here's another one) "ultimate" edition for certain titles.

oh HELL YEA!!!! you know what, i am looking forewards to the Complete Edition... one more game to add to my Christmas list.... lol.... oh boy, this is gonna be FUN yelling at the criminals again.... lol.... i do that a lot with ALL my games... it is fun to hear what I have to yell. LA Noire is the BEST EVER!!!!

@ZoTrAcK, @Gamer_4_Fun, @Rocker6, @gralvader, @gamerfreak1991, @DarthVeng_basic, @ziproy, @KaBo0m, & @Freezezzy: Exactly. This is why I hesitate to buy games when they first come out. Because publishers/developers purposefully take content out of the original versions & sell them as DLC to see what they get away with, then make another version of the same game for retail, & include the DLC along with it! Just like with these games: Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition. Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition. The Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition. Grand Theft Auto 4: Lost & Damned (on a disc). Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition. I can go on & on. Now you see why I constantly say that practices like DLC are bad for gaming & are a complete scam to milk more people out of money, & why I don't buy DLC for any game being out. Everyone needs to wake up & stop supporting such practices like DRM, DLC, Online passes/Season passes, etc. If more & more people were to stop supporting these practices, then the publishers/developers will stop doing it! We need to send a message to these publishers/developers about it. They cater to we don't cater to them.

This might be a sign of new DLC...even though I already got all the current DLC thanks to the pass...just hope that new DLC will come out when this edition comes out besides having the current stuff

Bought the game new at Blockbuster for $16 when they all shut down last month. Rockstar Pass at $11.99 and the Consul's Car DLC for $3.99. If this edition is less than $32 I am going to cry lol. Great game though. Am loving the heck out of it.

GC4ever
GC4ever

bought the game when it was on sale for $40 haven't bought the rockstar pass yet which is what, $13 so if this is $60 i still save money by just downloading the dlc my point is it still sucks to buy it on day 1 and find out this crap is happening...for shame rockstar

I feel ripped off about alot of games this year, this one included.... I now am waiting until all hype is over and done with, the true opinions of the game are all out, and pay the real price. These glitches, inaccuracies, and overhyped reviews compound the bad experience when you dedicate 20+ hours of your life to a poorly released game. cough couugh deusnukem cough

Just another example how (video game) companies are hurting themselves, and the industry. With packages like this (especially one called "the complete edition"), it just sends a message to gamers that they got cheated by buying early.

the extras was not that good at all - so they might as well throw it in im pissed i actually paid a full price for a limited nordic edition of this game i should have just imported it cheap from canada cause the extras is not worth it this game is overhyped - im not into shooting and that was actually my favorite part with this game (voice over and music is great though) its also filled with bugs so hopefully they can fix that with the new edition its a big game and at first it feels cool and stuff but its sooo over hyped and praised good graphics??? try telling any females apart... it was fun for awhile but in the end it just felt like a job for me and bf to finish it - i can soo easily pick up more trophies for this game but when we tried to go back we just saw all the faults and went...screw the trophies... those who dont have it and want it - make sure u get it cheap - its not suitable for renting though since its a big game

I'm never buy a Rockstar product at release ever again and I'm going to wait for their complete Edition's or GOTY's toreleased so I get every thing well RDR and GTA4 were a little different with RDR's DLC was all just extra stuff for the MP and the 2 add-on's for GTA4 were just addition's to a decently but great playing game and story.
