Earlier today, Gambit Gaming announced via Twitter that Jakub 'Kubon' Turewicz has decided now to renew his contract. Citing lack of comfort within the team as his main reason, the Pole is now out of Gambit Gaming as his contract ended on October 20th 2014.

After his one-split stint in the European LCS under the MYM banner, Kubon was mainly a challenger top laner representing a number of teams - Lublin Shore, MouseSports and Reason Gaming. When Gambit Gaming announced the step down of two of their most famous members - Darien and Genja, Kubon came in as a surprise replacement for the former. Putting up stable results, but not really shining in any of his games, the Pole helped the squad re-qualify for the 2015 EU Spring Split, but in the end has decided that this is not the path he wishes to take.

A statement from Gambit's former top laner can be found below:

My contract with Gambit Gaming expired on 20th of October. The last couple of days I have been thinking a lot about whether I should extend it or not. The reason for my doubts was that I do not feel quite comfortable playing in Gambit because of the different views on the play style. For me it is very important to be honest with myself and with my teammates, so I took such a difficult decision. Gambit is a strong team and I believe that guys will succeed in the next season. Just the time has come and we will go our separate ways

Although there is some time before the beginning of the split, sources are saying that French challenger top laner and former NiP player Lucas 'Cabochard' Simon-Meslet may take Kubon's place, but nothing is confirmed as of yet.
