Konami has announced that it will release Enthusia Professional Racing exclusively for the PlayStation 2 in 2005. Currently in development at Konami Computer Entertainment Studios, the game promises to offer an incredibly realistic driving experience for one or two players. It will feature hundreds of licensed cars from over 40 different manufacturers.

Enthusia Professional Racing will focus squarely on the driving experience rather than on having players spend their time tuning vehicles. Although upgrades will be available, Konami has stated that winning races will still be dependant on players' abilities behind the wheel rather than under the hood. The game will feature dozens of both real and fictional circuits from all over the world, and it will also boast variable weather conditions that can affect the handling of vehicles during races.

Adding to the realism of the game will be Konami's new proprietary "Visual Gravity System," which is designed to replicate the g-force experience when racing around a track at high speeds. It's not yet clear exactly how the effects of g-force will be achieved in the game, but it seems reasonable to assume that the purportedly photo-realistic graphics will be put through some pretty major blur filters at some point.

We'll bring you more information on Enthusia Professional Racing as soon as it becomes available.
