Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima is a major PlayStation 4 supporter, saying in a new interview that Sony's new console is so powerful that it can render 1080p at 60fps with "room to spare." Kojima made the comments in a new "conversations with creators" interview with Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu (translated by DualShockers).

"I think, between the home consoles available in the domestic market, the PS4 is the best," Kojima said. "It's also excellent for graphics, being able to render 1080p at 60fps with room to spare. Since it does it a little better than other hardware, the image quality of the PS4 is the most beautiful. It's the closest to the photorealistic quality we are aiming at."

Kojima was careful in not making a direct comparison to the Xbox One, but it still appears the industry veteran is leaning towards Sony's camp in the battle between the two systems.

This isn't the first time Kojima praised the PS4, as he said last week that the PS4 version of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes looks "slightly better" on Sony's system compared to the Xbox One. Konami has yet to reveal the exact resolution of the game on PS4, but the publisher will release a trailer highlighting the differences in visual fidelity between the platforms soon.
