Kojima has dinner with Guillermo del Toro

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima meets with Pacific Rim, Pan's Labyrinth director to talk games and movies.

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima recently had dinner with Pacific Rim and Pan's Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro.

"Great dinner with Guillermo Del Toro," Kojima tweeted last night. "We talked about movie, game, Anime, Manga, & Kaiju."

Del Toro is a fan of the game industry, having launched into development of horror game InSane. He also included the voice of Portal's GLaDOS in a trailer for Pacific Rim.

In January, del Toro said he had lined up a "big company" to revive InSane, which now-bankrupt publisher THQ cut loose last year.

"I can't say who, but it's one of the big ones," he said at the time. "They really responded to the game; they responded to what we were trying."

I disagree that this is not big news.

Two legendary storytellers and directors of two different mediums meet, something might be in the works. Sure its just speculation, but its fun speculation!

Kojima has dinner with Guillermo del Toro is a sentence I would have never expected to hear or read. Too bad that's the most interesting thing about the article. Nice work again, Eddie.

If these two ever made a game together, it would be truly remarkable. They should have more dinner talks together...

Geeez! Don't keep me in suspense. What did they eat? How much did the meal cost? Where did they eat? So much  opportunity to write a solid story, lost. Come on GS, way to report the news.

I dont think they share the same visions in movies or games, for me that dinner was only curiosity about each other, no more for that, dont get excited fanboys.

I'm a bit disappointed I was hoping to find out what they actually had for dinner. The report also fails to mention dessert choices.

Wow I had dinner with someone once and talking about games, movies, and comics.  How come it wasn't published?  I could see if we heard more and it actually said what they spoke about in detail or something major came of it but this is a whole lot of nothing.

@hahamanin Well, they better have had some drinks, otherwise the dinner would be a failure.

@the_big_doggg lol sounds like you don't know who these 2 are and why this is news.  Hint, both are masters of their craft ;)

I assume you know who Kojima is because you're posting on a gaming website, so here is why you should be excited Guillermo is interested in the gaming industry.
