Knights Fight for Kain

A report surfaced today that suggests that the original developers of Legacy of Kain, Silicon Knights, is trying to stop Crystal Dynamics, publisher of the original, from publicizing the game further. Crystal Dynamics is currently at work on Kain 2: Soul Reaver in-house (see preview of Kain 2 on videogames.com).

Reportedly, Silicon Knights has filed an injunction against Crystal Dynamics seeking to prevent the company from publicizing the game further (releasing screens, press releases, or any other documents relating to the game). Silicon Knights also alleges in the claim that Crystal took the concept of Kain 2 from a title that the Canada-based Knights were developing.

Silicon Knights could not offer an official response and Crystal Dynamics could not be reached for comment at press time. We'll have more on this story as it develops.
