Nintendo today announced that Kirby, the shape-shifting pink fluffball and star of several games, makes his debut on the DS today. The E-rated Kirby: Canvas Curse is available in stores for the DS at an SRP of $34.99.

In the game, Kirby's home turf of Dream Land has fallen victim to an evil witch's curse that turns the world into a series of paintings. Gamers will wield the stylus as a magic paintbrush that helps Kirby navigate the game's levels and renders his foes useless. Kirby is well known for his ability to suck powers from enemies, and a deft loop of the stylus sends the pink one slamming into enemies in order to steal their abilities.

The game's levels are divided into eight different worlds, each aesthetically different and spanning landscapes like subterranean caves and forested areas. There is also a selection of minigames to choose from.
