Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning adding Teeth of Naros DLC

New $10 content headed to RPG on April 17 introduces new city Idylla, 20 side quests, multiple dungeons, and new "mysterious" race.

Rumors of additional Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning downloadable content were spot-on. Electronic Arts today announced the Teeth of Naros DLC for Big Huge Games' action role-playing title.

The world of Amalur continues to grow on April 17.

Due out April 17 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC for $10 (800 Microsoft points), the Teeth of Naros content adds the new city of Idylla, which floats in the sky. Gamers will find more than 20 side quests, five new dungeons, and a "mysterious race" on the locale.

Additionally, the Teeth of Naros DLC brings new enemies and three additional Twists of Fate cards. On top of that, gamers will score nine new armor sets, six shields, and 18 weapons to blunt new foes.

The Teeth of Naros DLC for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is the game's third batch of postrelease add-on content. It follows House of Valor and The Legend of Dead Kel, which were released on launch day and March 20, respectively.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning shipped on February 7 to a warm critical reception. The game sold 330,000 units in the United States, and Big Huge Games founder Curt Schilling confirmed that a sequel is in the works.

This game has actually been a great new IP. They managed to combine lots of different elements into a new RPG. I'm pleased so far.

After playing through Dead Kel, I honestly felt like I got my money's worth. The story in Dead Kel was actually pretty good, the books you could decipher and several awesome characters were also in depth/funny. I will no doubt buy this and hopefully get the same level of enjoyment out of it.

Have to agree with deathstream , KOAR is good game and I wish that similar combat system had been in Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver Series and Divinity 2. I wonder if Bio can take a hint and make similarly big world adventure. Hope they new former WH40K MMO turned SP will also sell well and be a addictive game.

I wish games would just go back to doing large expansions.

Loved the game, but i think ill wait for a GOTY type release that gives me all the DLC on one disc instead of mucking up my HDD.

I really liked this game, the setting was good, but to be honest I didn't give a single crap about what I was doing, it was just so repetitive, go here, kill this, retrieve that (like wow), that's why twenty new quests or a new city to explore doesn't excite me, because I know I'll be doing the same thing again. P.s There is NO WAY this game is better than Skyrim.

I have yet to get the Legend of Dead Kel DLC but still powering through the game. I must admit that I am quite excited knowing that this is getting good reviews for you guys (gamers), might get both when this new one comes out. I prefer this game over Skyrim anyday.

For the record everyone, THIS is what DLC should always be.

@Mr_Mark_Legion Dead Kel is worth $10 just for the conversations with Captain Brattigan. It is also a fairly substantial bit of gameplay for the money. The only problem with it are that the stuff you get seems more useful for lower level characters, not those maxed out.

Sweet! KoA was a superb new IP with tons of potential. I plan to get both newer DLCs ...as soon as I can get the xp for my efforts.

They need to raise the level cap, because even if you start Dead Kel at Level 30, you still go up over 4 levels.

The Patch is on it's separate schedule and begin worked on by an entire different team. The DLC(s) were in the works for months ahead of actual launch of Reckoning and hence them coming out sooner. The fact they're taking this long to release a patch says to me that they're testing the hell out of it, making sure it won't break anything else. It'll be quality I'm sure of it.

Can we get a patch first EA?

For the record, Curt Shilling did not found Big Huge Games as the developer was in existence before he stepped into the gaming scene. Shilling (along with Todd McFarland and R. A. Salvatore) founded 38 Studios, which in turn bought Big Huge Games for some developer muscle. How can a "News Editor" for a respectable gaming site make such a bone-headed error? Obviously no one edits the editor.

The way to fight used sales would be to give those that use an online pass from a new purchase all future dlc packs free. those that bought it used have to pay for dlc.

I'm still playing this between other games, and it's still enjoyable. I could definitely use a bit more difficulty and a higher level cap, but the content-per-DLC ratio has been decent. If they want to release a ton of DLC (again, with plenty of content each), then good on them. No one's forcing anyone to buy it.

When it comes out on disc, and Bioware does something about Mass Defect 3 then I'll look at it. Right now Origin is not getting access to my credit card.

Well, I loved this game and all, but I'm going to wait awhile for the DLC. You just know that with the amount of DLC being released, there are going to be a crap ton of sales.

Have they released a patch yet that fixes the field of view or the difficulty?

Didn't they just release DLC for $10? Jesus christ, STOP WITH THE MILKING!
