Any chance this will be coming to 3DS or just jump on the Re-Coded with it's outdated graphics?

It is sad to know that Kingdom Hearts is skipping the this gen consoles. Hopefully we will able to see Kingdom Hearts on next-gen consoles.

I'll so have this. KH1 was awesome but then I never could get into KH2. Now this will give me a solid 2nd chance on it. The RE: Chain of Memories game can go on somewhere. lol

I'll just be waiting for the release of the HD Final Mix of Kingdom Hearts II and Birth by Sleep. I haven't played Birth by Sleep due to not having a PSP and KH2 had a substantial amount of extras in its Final Mix when compared to the first game's Final Mix.

Can't help but feel bad for KH players.. they got nothing for PS3's gen only this remake and it came out at the console's end. SE you suck! How could you do something like that FFS.

Surprise that they didn't just put KH:BBS, KH, KH:ReCOM, and KH2 in the ps3 collection. Then put KH:358/2 Days, KH:ReCoded, and KH:3D on a Wii U collection

Wonder how far behind KH2 will be.

Been wanting my fiance to play KH for a long time and have almost bought her a PS2 multiple times, but once I heard about this it is a great solution.

I wonder if they're using this to try to gauge how much demand there still is a for a console Kingdom Hearts 3.

I have to admit, it's just been way too long between the actual Kingdom Hearts entries for comfort. I have to believe that the general interest has taken a giant hit.

Yeah I don't think so, I use to like the Kingdom Hearts series but not anymore. The game just feel really old to me now. If they would have release the part 3 (If there was planning to) sooner then I would have been more interesting in it. But now they just delaying it with all these KH games that don't follow the story. And even if they did most of them was in multiple game system. We almost at new generation console. I just feel uninterested in the series now.

@racerxgundam Well, I'm glad it's not your opinion that decides the release of KH in HD, I definitely want to be able to play these games on my ps3. Not to mention I'm looking forward to playing KH with the camera improved and like KH 2 camera.

@samnator123 Australian site? lol You should really do some research before you start claiming an American site is Australian.... Google can tell you a lot of things man.

@samnator123 This isnt an Australian site, you crazy?

GameSpot was founded by Vince Broady and two of his friends in San Francisco, out of an old travel agency building. Initially, GameSpot focused exclusively on PC games. Its sister site, VideoGameSpot.com, was launched in December 1996 to cover console games. In 1997, VideoGameSpot.com became VideoGames.com for a short period, and by 1998, the PC and console sections were united at GameSpot.com.

Read up man.  I have no idea why you are trying to take credit for an American site...

@HonorOfGod At least better than nothing right? They're to busy fixing their main Final Fantasy series haven't got enough time and manpower to produce a proper sequel of KH main series.

@bluedeathking That's overdoing it a little. I don't see  Dream Drop Distance getting the HD treatment when the likely Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD comes along, which will probably consist of KH2: Final Mix, Birth by Sleep and the cutscenes for Re:Coded. Would that also include the cutscenes from Dream Drop Distance? Who knows.

@Strider8009 You have to keep in mind that God of War titles take a maximum of 10 hours to complete, whereas Kingdom Hearts takes around 35-40, and RE: Chain of Memories can take 15-20.

Toysoldier34
Toysoldier34

@Strider8009 The God of War HD remake collections released at I think $40 and only had 2 games each. The first had GOW 1&2 then a second collection of the 2 PSP games.

Thunderstarter
Thunderstarter

@BradBurns Not sure I agree with that. Kingdom Hearts has an enormous fanbase, and even with the spin-off handheld titles taking over this generation, I still think a 3rd installment would generate a ton of interest from both old and new fans.
If you ask me, I think this is to usher in new fans who want to start the series from the beginning but missed it, and to give old fans the HD Kingdom Hearts remake we've been asking for.

Toysoldier34
Toysoldier34

@BradBurns I was a huge fan and loved the first few games but it has been too long. I would have sat out in line to get a copy a couple years ago, but now I would still get it but maybe after some time.

The spin off handheld releases really killed the series for me especially when I didn't have a PSP and missed out on them.

@Loshead @Zetsuie I hope so! cause that's what i did. And after paying my $40 for the preorder and finding out days was only scenes... i was a little upset.

racerxgundam

@samnator123 @racerxgundam its not that i think kh in hd isnt a good idea..but at 40 bucks that game and chain of memories seems awfully skimpy compared to say other compliations i have seen from other companies. And not including final mix 2 in this seems like customer gouging to me.

To me, metal gear solid HD and the GOW compilations were great values in my eyes.

Cold_Blood4
Cold_Blood4

@davidyang1123 @Infinite_Access No its not, Final mix only has KH 1, KH re:chain of memories and the cut scenes from 358/2 days

"Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX is a collection that contains the classic original game redone in HD along with the immediate continuation of Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories and HD enhanced cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days."

@anonymousicko @HonorOfGod exactly, so we aren't enraged. we got something and that's better than nothing, they can't work on versus and kingdom hearts 3 at the same time so i'm happy

soulless4now
soulless4now

@anonymousicko I never understood why SE didn't get the team that worked on Birth by Sleep to at least start on the game and then the KH team can take over after Versus is done. They could've made some decent progress on it by now.

SeannTHEsheep

@GameBeaten @bluedeathking capcom are bringing resident evil revelations , a 3ds exclusive to multiformat.  nintendo should convince se to bring dream drop distance to wii-u with hd visuals.

Toysoldier34
Toysoldier34

@Gam1nG_W1zard All the handhelds games take the story and series all over the place and it makes an already difficult to follow story even harder.

The handhelds don't all fall in line as direct sequels and exist on their own more or focus on things beyond the core story of the original 2.

oldschoolvandal
oldschoolvandal

@Toysoldier34 @Strider8009 Yep, that's true. God of War Saga has 5 games and was released at $40.

I'm also waiting a while in the hope a complete (or better) KH collection is released.

Toysoldier34
Toysoldier34

@Strider8009 @Toysoldier34 There is now yes that has all 5 games. I don't know the price of it but they are all older games now and you can buy them all for now much individually. Though when they originally launched they were at $40 so the pricing isn't too bad. It is unfortunate though that the second game isn't included.

I guess that they plan to do an HD remake of some of the other handheld game and port them to PS3 when they release the second game which would be amazing since I never got to play any of them.

Toysoldier34
Toysoldier34

@flameon12346 @Thunderstarter The KH 1.5 is only the first game. Back on the PS2 they released KH Final Mix in only Japan and it just added a bit more content to the game.

The collection here is going to have the first game and the Chains of Memories with remade cutscenes from the Days game.

It is assumed that they will do a second collection with KH2 and some of the other PSP games remade.

It does suck that they never did just make KH3 and only made spin off games, but they also were much cheaper to make than a full PS3 KH3 release.

flameon12346
flameon12346

@Thunderstarter To me I think it is to much for the people that what to play them all. People have to pay a lot of money for other system (That don't have it) just to play different KH games. Those are just side story which just make the series more confusion to KH 1& 2. Why they just don't release Kingdom Hearts 3 to save the trouble? Now they making some 1.5 Remix that a combine of two games we already played, like enough is enough.

Toysoldier34
Toysoldier34

@Thunderstarter Not sure whether it was simply because it had been a while since I played KH 1+2 or if it was because I didn't care as much about the handheld entry but I had a hard time following the Days game and never ended up finishing it. It just didn't have the same charm and feel that I loved about the originals.

While they all do follow in a timeline the other games do have a spin off feel to them. I haven't played the latest ones myself but they still give off that vibe, not that they aren't good they just aren't what made people love the games.

Thunderstarter
Thunderstarter

@Toysoldier34 @Gam1nG_W1zard Except they are all canonical with the main story.
The timeline is as follows:

Birth By Sleep -> Kingdom Hearts -> Chain of Memories-> 358/2 Days -> Kingdom Hearts 2- >RE: Coded -> Dream Drop Distance

It's really not that hard to follow until you hit Dream Drop Distance, but that's an issue self-contained to that title.

flameon12346
flameon12346

@Toysoldier34 I couldn't have explained it better myself. @Gam1nG_W1zard It just that they been doing this for far to long I lost interest. If they do make a KH3 soon then I be pretty happy but for now  I'm not interested in the series anymore.
