Kingdom Hearts 2.9 is allegedly being developed for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, online leaks have reported.

According to KH13, the leaks originate from a Square Enix developer based in Osaka who listed the game on their LinkedIn page. The developer allegedly worked on the game for 10 months, where they oversaw "game idea planning and documentation," "boss planning," and more. The developer's profile also details involvement with Kingdom Hearts III, including involvement with Disney and Pixar.

The most recent entry into the series was Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, which was released in December last year exclusively for the PlayStation 3. The game includes full high-definition remasters of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, as well as cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. The long awaited Kingdom Hearts III was first revealed during E3 2013, but Square Enix is yet to announce a release date. More recently, Square Enix confirmed that a world from animated film Big Hero 6 will be present in the game.
