Kevin Spacey reportedly confirmed for new Call of Duty game

American actor is likely involved in upcoming Call of Duty game.

American actor Kevin Spacey will possibly play a part in the upcoming Call of Duty game. The information surfaces in relation to a new video posted on the official Call of Duty Instagram account, featured above.

A voice says in the video, "Ideas don't determine who's right. Power determines who's right. And I have the power, so I'm right."

The featured voice and character likeness bears a very strong resemblance to actor Kevin Spacey.

The video closes with the Microsoft and Xbox One logos, followed by date the new Call of Duty game will be revealed. Interestingly, the PlayStation logo was absent from the video.

Activision has launched a teaser website for this year's Call of Duty Game that tells fans to "Get ready for a new era". A clock on the website counts down to 1 p.m. EDT on May 4. A teaser video posted by Activision earlier this week revealed that the new game will focus on private military contractors (PMC).

Earlier this month, we got our first look at a character model for this year's Call of Duty game. Activision has dubbed it as "perhaps the best Call of Duty game ever created."

No really? I wonder what his face is doing -- in a cutscene -- in the trailer.

Last CoD had some astronaut action that was pretty spaced out, so why not take it one step further and make it even more Spacey.

"reportedly confirmed"? are you friggin kidding me? yeah fine journalism there GameSpot. so glad to see another useless article with a bullshit title just to try to raise your cost per mille. It's sad, I used to come to GS because I could trust the reports given...now i just feel they are made to profit off of my hopes like the other rags out there.

It sounds like House of Cards.

I won't be playing the game but it's still pretty cool

Does anyone else think its super lame that CGI versions of actors are showing up in video games? I don't mind voice cameos by big name actors (Especially when you don't find out until you've played the game through, then its like hey it was that dude?! No way!) But this is just tacky and Hollywood looking. Don't get me wrong, spaceys cool, but CGI spacey just looks lame. CGI Ellen page was lame too. It just seems less like a video game to me now, its just a movie with interactive capabilities. I don't know why this bothers me, maybe I'm being too cynical, but I hate it and I don't want it in my life.

Well, that's cool. At least they're making good use of all the money they've made.

And he'll play the role of an AWOL soldier who goes on an insane murdering rampage in a day care filled with special needs children! And guess what? You get to play that mission! Because it'll be SHOCKING and throw off the flow of what little story there is in the game!

He lends some esteem to the title. The trailer was amazing, and I don't usually say that about COD trailers.

So, are they finally admitting that they aren't making video games and are making interactive movies with online pew pew for casuals?

A New Era Of The Same Old...But you get new maps and its still about how many you can kill before they kill you.

CoD a game full of innovations...You'll shit your pants....

Hope its only on Xbone, you fellas like that shit and abusing your headsets lol, and not PC and PS4

Hm... That's interesting. Spacey is one of those actors I wouldn't have expected to do games, but that's cool. This makes me wonder if this is where most of the money went...

Dam you Activision for bringing Spacey down to your level. You better give K-Pax some awesome lines! And GERTY better be well animated.

I have a better idea.  Hire a talented but non-celebrity actor to read his role, and spend the rest on more content, and bug testing to benefit the consumer.

Honestly, celebrity voice actors never really add anything to a game.

@gobblox3001 What reports, all GameStop ever does is repost other sites' articles, with clickbait headlines.

@jennitals55  Actually CGI Ellen Page (and Willem Dafoe for that matter) was the main reason to play Beyond. Without her it would be even more pointless.

As for CoD - trailer looks cool (can't believe I'm saying this about CoD), it's first time since Modern Warfare I'm actually excited to see what it will be.

@JDWolfie  Yeah but Fallout 3 and Liam Neeson? Plus Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow and Patrick Stewart??! Maybe not a huge impact but it's still awesome to have known actors doing video game voices..

Pawfalcon

@gunsweet @JDWolfie That was Patrick Stewart?! ...yeah ok, I see it now. No wonder it felt like the voice actor was overdoing it a bit.

@gunsweet @LordCrash88  A game with some brain, heart and soul maybe. A more intellectual game you know...

Not for a series which is known as one of the dumbest one around at least...

@LordCrash88  It was bound to happen... he plays Call of Duty regularly in House of Cards, (Marketing team was probably all over that.)
