Datel has today announced that it will publish Karaoke Party for the PlayStation 2 in both North America and Europe later this month. The game, which will be bundled with two microphone headsets, will allow players to sing along to more than 20 licensed music tracks from such artists as Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Pink.

"Karaoke is the next big craze on the PlayStation 2; in fact, industry experts estimate it will become even bigger than the dance mat phenomenon," said Michael Connors, managing director of Datel. "With fantastic high-resolution graphics and DVD-quality sound, Karaoke Party is the ultimate audiovisual experience for budding PS2 pop stars."

Each of the songs in the game will feature DVD video tracks and vocals from professional backup singers. Additional discs containing even more music tracks and DVD videos are planned for release in the near future. We'll bring you more information on Karaoke Party as soon as it becomes available.
