Julie Larson-Green set to replace Don Mattrick as Xbox One boss - Report

Management reshuffle at Microsoft could see Julie Larson-Green manage Microsoft's entire hardware division.

Windows boss Julie Larson-Green is set to take charge of Microsoft's hardware division, including the Xbox, a Bloomberg report has said.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is set to announce a management reshuffle next week, with Larson-Green in line to oversee the division in charge of producing the Xbox One and Surface tablets. Bloomberg also reports that Skype president Tony Bates is being lined up to manage acquisitions and relationships with Microsoft software developers but that the potential restructuring isn't finalised and is subject to change.

Don Mattrick was reported to have been lined up for the position, before departing Microsoft to join social gaming giant Zynga as its CEO earlier this week.

Larson-Green has worked at Microsoft for 19 years and has overseen the launch of Windows 7 and its more controversial successor, Windows 8. She also led the visual redesign introduced in Microsoft Office 2007, and her earlier work at the company saw her working on Internet Explorer 3.0 and 4.0.

Oh geez the three comments below mine were featured in a news article about this woman taking over as head of xbox!!!  BTW, she is hot for real.

I wonder if this lady realizes, unlike Don, that people just don't give a shit about TV anymore- and we're giving less of a shit everyday.

This is as good or better than sex!

To me the sad part is that the beautiful Kaz - Don Mattrick gif relationship will end.

Better for Microsoft I guess.

Ah, so the person in charge of Windows 8 is now in charge of the Xbone?

I predict nothing but success! *snicker*

make sure she at least played a console game once in her life as a job resume requirement.

Because I'm incredibly cynical I can't help wondering if she's getting the job because Microsoft think we'll be more likely to swallow all their bullshit if it's being presented by a pair of tits. Especially after Mattricks complete botching of the XBox One Eighty information previously.

Windows boss? maybe she'll port some xbone exclusives to pc. oh and rehaul gfwl or get rid of it already.

Hope she can turn the image of Xbox one upside down.

Below are the things that Microsoft can change it before the console gets released,

1. The idea to integrate TV with a  gaming console is a bad decision.

2. Didn't explain the usage of Kinect from a gamers point, also the option to shut it off completely.

3. Low powered GPU specs compared to the competition.

4. Unnecessarily investing money in TV programs.

What do you guys think, will the people who didn't opt for the Xbox one before, Will they change if the above things are changed or explained correctly.

@cds325 You're an idiot. If I have a wife that looks half as great as Julie when she is her age I will be more than happy.

@Thanatos2k She was also in charge of Windows 7 launch. So all the comments below are irrelevant.
Also you guys exaggerate. I have Windows 8 (with a start button program installed; oh god it was so hard) and it works better than Windows 7 (thank you fast start up times).

Should they have included a start button to begin with? Yes

Is it such a big deal? No

@Thanatos2k  lol windows 8 sold 100m in first 6 month and now it's in rank 3 behind xp and 7

don't judge windows 8 untill you have touchscreen computer

@Thanatos2k Truth! As horrible as the Windows 8 release was it does not bode well for the future of Xbox One if it continues down the same path.

@El_Zaggy Keep that kind of garbage to yourself. She has been at Microsoft for a long while and obviously is being considered based on her track record. Don't mistake her for what you would see in a porno starring yourself.

@DefconRave But then they're not exclusives.

And its Xbox on Windows.

@victorcom Being able to link your console to your TV digital box is a great idea. The fact that you don't have to fiddle about changing AV/HDMI, Use for a control is not need, changing channel is easier than bfore, its innovative, the console is so much more nextgen than the ps4.

@Yomigaeru @FartFastMcSpeed It would be more important for her to know her role. If she understands that, she will be a success and we will receive a great product. She's not making games.

@oyvs

Fiddle around ? It takes a few presses of a TV remote to do everything you just mentioned, lol.

@oyvs What about people living in countries other than USA.

jeffrobin

@Adapttttttt @oyvs Come on though, it's like saying I don't use a remote because I like getting up and changing the channel, it's no big deal. Changing the inputs, while certainly not life threatening, is a pain and if someone can get rid of it and somehow integrate both on my screen when I want to then so much the cooler.

jeffrobin

@Yomigaeru @oyvs @Adapttttttt You have wires going over other wires especially power cables and you will get a lot of interference. Wireless these days is fine and you get minimal interference.

Yomigaeru
Yomigaeru

@oyvs @Adapttttttt In general, I always choose wired over wireless when feasible. I don't have to worry about signal interference from other devices and such that way.

oyvs

@Adapttttttt @oyvs if you wanna pick hairs fine. why have wireless when you can get extension cords and 100ft long ethernet

victorcom

@oyvs @victorcom Why not concentrate on the core business. Instead of taking a loss at the end. Still they are only targeting gamers to watch TV programs. Am I right?

oyvs
oyvs

@victorcom @oyvs But thats Microsoft Tv they are investing in which, is going to be xbox tv but is separate to the production of games.

victorcom

@oyvs @victorcom Ok, what about unnecessarily investing money on TV program, which most gamers are not interested.

oyvs
oyvs

@victorcom @oyvs Well its not just USA, you can connect your sky/virgin box to the back of the console aswell. The only features missing that will have to come later are (if you saw) ESPN sports info
