I don't know why people keep jacking off to this game and creaming all over their own faces about it. It's just another game. The game was so short. I played through it and was mildly amused, but of all the games I enjoyed either recently before or after this game, Journey was actually a waste of my gaming time now that I think of it.

This has to be a joke.

On another note, what's up with Max Payne 3 getting snubbed everywhere?

I bought Journey over Christmas in the sales, after all the hype and nominations it had for various awards I thought i'd actually give it a go.

I played it on max-output on my TV (game runs in 720p only) and had my surround sound headphones on and can only say it's a beautiful experience.  Don't go playing the thing if explosions and killing people is your scene, its more an interactive piece of art/platformer hybrid.

In some ways I think the games success hasn't done it any justice to new players.  Although I thoroughly enjoyed it I couldn't help but feel that the whole 'emotional twist' so often stated has been vastly exaggerated.  There's a story to it yes, but it's much more about the art style and music, not the script.

Definitely deserves recognition and awards, but certainly not GOTY.

It's a pretty neat game, but I'm sure as heck glad I got it for $7 this Xmas instead of paying $15.

I got 100% as well.

Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition:
Guildwars 2 is not on here? Say what you like about the game, but the music score is leaps and bounds more talented then anything there posted... oh wait, but farcry 3 has skrillix. FML I think I'll hang myself.

as a PlayStation3 owner, I'm really happy for Journey and The Unfinished Swan, I would like to try Fez and, the old but not forgotten, Shadow Complex...

Underrated Games: Far Cry 3, Borderlands 2, Mass Effect 3, Street Fighter X Tekken

Overrated Games: Walking Dead, Halo 4, Playstation All-Stars

But dishonored should be nominated game of the year

I also think too many people like female Shepard. She isn't that good, and she's almost the opposite of male Shepard, while his is somewhat monotone, hers seems too aggressive; as if no matter what, she's ultimately always bitchy no matter what way you make her; paragon or renegade. No disrespect to the actor and actress, they're talented, but I thought they could have been better at Shepard. I do like my male Shepard though.

@andrecaseiro  Last I heard, Fez was going multiplatform in 2013. So you just may be playing it on your ps3 in the near future.

I don't see it happening anytime soon, neither the other way around (xbox getting ps3 exclusives). It would be cool, but it isn't likely to happen. Btw Fez is a nice game, but not so worth of praise, Shadow Complex was good, but it's quite outdated (and still it wasn't such as a superuber game as Journey seems to be)

@Selinkoso But at least it's nominated in several categories (5 in total!) where it should be nominated, like story, game direction and art direction, so it's not Dishonored or overlooked in any other way.

@thequickshooter  I think it depends on how you react to art.  If you can look at a painting of a house and see a some kind of meaning to life in the picture, then you might enjoy Journey.  But if you're like me, where a painting of a house is just that, a painting of a house, then this game is a waste of time.  I got nothing but buyers remorse from this game.

@thequickshooter To say anything negative about it would be bad if saw from someone that really thought it deserved all this, but oh well. While I don't have anything truly negative to say about the game, because it is a unique experience that does at least deserve and is worthy of some of awards, I don't think it deserved game of the year, nor the attention it's getting in the way it's getting it.

To me, it was basically a play through once or twice and think "Yeah, that was neat. OK, what's next?" It's special in certain aspects, but not THAT special, certainly when taking into account just how long that experience is. I personally found much more meaningful games to play in 2012, but I can't call foul on those that truly loved it. My friend, brother, nor I could agree that it deserved game of the year, only that it was neat.

I'm not shallow, 'cause there have been games to make me smile, make me feel short term sadness, and even anger, but while I can see where and why Journey made those that played it feel the way they did, I didn't personally feel that way when I played it. I simply thought it was a beautifully unique experience that I didn't care to play anymore after my first go. And don't even get into the whole games as art talk.

@ahpuck let's hope you're right : ) it would be great, but I really doubt it, the publisher of Fez is Microsoft Studios, meaning, no PlayStation or Nintendo, it's a Xbox Live Arcade exclusive (or now) maybe pc later like you said, via steam i guess?...

thanks for the reply ahpuck : )

@ilantis retail exclusives it's fine by me, Xbox 360 has the Gears of War, Halo and Forza the PlayStation 3 has the Uncharted, Killzone and Gran Turismo (in my opinion: same games, diferent covers), but digital distribution... do we really need two consoles for that? the games are unique and hard to find an equal...
well, I guess I have to deal with it, unfortunately...
another thing, since you probably played Shadow Complex, can you recomend me some identical game, just to get and idea of what I'm missing there...

thanks..

I also do not own a Nintendo system, but I see that Outland is available on PSN. just saw the trailer and the game sounds promising, I will try it out : D

once again, thanks : )

@andrecaseiro I guess pretty much any 2D metroid game or some other 2d side scroller like that, there are plenty. I just downloaded "Outland" a week ago and is an adventure/side scroller game, even if the gameplay and settings are totally different.
