Journey Collector's Edition hits retail August 28

Pack will include ThatGameCompany's Flower, Flow, creator commentaries, and other special features.

Journey Collector's Edition will arrive in North American retail August 28 along with ThatGameCompany predecessors Flower and Flow, creator commentaries, and other special features. A developer blog post outlined the disc-based package to be priced at $30.

The Journey begins anew.

The new edition will include a documentary about creating Journey, creator commentary playthroughs, concept art galleries, original soundtracks, and three minigames, among other items. The playthrough videos include feedback from the designers, artists, engineers, and composers behind the games, and the minigames are the result of 24-hour "game jams" within ThatGameCompany.

Earlier this month, ThatGameCompany secured $5.5 million in venture capital funding and declared it would develop and release games for multiple platforms as an independent company. Previously, games from the studio were published only on Sony platforms, and also on PC in the case of Flow.

This  means certainly good news for gamers living in countries where PSN isn't not available and couldn't purchase the formerly only downloadable games.

This bundle will be a perfect chance for me to check out their game library. I'm not sure I want it on disc though...

Absolutely 100% sold.

I was just about to buy Journey and then I read about this last week, it looks outstanding.

Great price and a great package.

Finally have something to look forward to again for 2012's gaming :)

Is this the first disc-based game with playthrough commentaries? More games should feature this too :D

Journey is simply one of the best games I have ever played. I started and finished it today, and it was a pretty emotional journey with my companion (who I'm now friends with) from start to finish. If anyone hasn't tried it, now you should. No excuse not to.
