JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle out late August in Japan

Fighting game from Asura’s Wrath developer to also have limited edition featuring sculpted figure of main character Jotaro Kujo.

Fans of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga series can look forward to taking their favourite characters into battle, as Namco Bandai has announced the release date of the upcoming PS3 game JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle.

The game will be out in Japan on August 29 in both standard and limited editions. The latter will contain the game, a sculpted figure of Jotaro Kujo, a gold plate featuring a drawing by series creator Hirohiko Araki, a soundtrack disc, a notepad themed after series character Hayato Kawajiri, and a special box to house the aforementioned items. The bundle will cost gamers 16,980 yen ($182), while the standard edition will cost 7,980 yen ($85).

First-print runs of both the standard and limited editions will contain a DLC code to download one of the series’ antagonist Yoshikage Kira as a playable character. For more information on the fighting game, check out our Tokyo Game Show 2012 demo video above.

I also played this in the arcade era in the 90's. This game doesn't interest me now.

Awesome roster line-up.I was wondering when they would add Johnathan Joestar, but they finally did.The anime is suberb and really funny, but the manga is really hard to comprehend, but I will not spoil it for myself and just watch the show.Everthing about JoJo is very stylish and unique in its own way.I hope it comes to the U.S after its release in Japan. Can't wait.  :)

Having played the original game in the arcades in the 90's i'm actually glad to see a new game coming out since i've been watching the anime series online and read nearly all the manga books.

Anyway...i hope and pray this game comes out state side because i'd buy it.

The game play looks interesting, but due to never reading the manga or watching the anime I am not sure what to expect, is it worth reading or watching?

@Strider8009 Did you watch any of the gameplay? It doesn't seem to play like the naruto games at all. Over heads, low hits, specials and super cancels, 4 attack buttons, all the stuff necessarily for real combos. Seems to play more like Tekken than anything and there isn't massive knockback or keep away so you don't spend half a match "chakra dashing".

@Ranma_X_basic I've heard it's been out for while--manga and anime--but I swear I haven't gotten around to finding it! I feel ashamed.....and here I call myself an otaku (lol)....

I must immediately remedy this by getting on watching/reading it ASAP. XD

@PumpkinBoogie @Ranma_X_basic Well pumpkin you can find the anime episodes here. www.animecrazy.net

right now it's up to Episode 19. of the series so you might have to start from the first episode up. i'm sure manga chapters though you can find online maybe at mangareader.net i think.

It's on mangareader.net I forgot to finish Part 4. I read everything except Part 5, 7, and 8 (currently still going) I like Part 6 because it was different from others. Not going spoil it. Anyway. This game will be awesome. I can't wait for the release date for NA.

@Ranma_X_basic @PumpkinBoogie LOL...funny you mention animecrazy.net; matter of fact I believe that's the last place I remember seeing it listed as being on. Being a member on there and all, I had a hunch that was the first place I was gonna try. ^_^
