Mission Studios, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software, announced today that JetFighter IV: Fortress America has gone gold and will ship to retailers on October 31. JetFighter IV is a combat flight simulation that features hardware-accelerated graphics and an easy-to-use flight control system. Players defend American soil from enemy attacks while flying advanced jet fighters such as the F-14 TomCat, F-22 Raptor, and F/A-18 SuperHornet.

Players fly above downtown San Francisco and the 50,000 square miles of the surrounding Bay Area to defend against a sneak attack by Russian and Chinese forces. JetFighter IV has four times the terrain detail of JetFighter III, making famous landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge easily visible. The game also offers deathmatch and co-op missions in multiplayer mode, which supports up to 16 pilots on a LAN or over the Internet.
