January's Top Sellers

Baldur's takes the top seat as SimCity makes its rapid ascent.

Comments

On Tuesday, PC Data released the national listing of top-selling PC game titles for January. The charts were topped (not surprisingly) by Baldur's Gate. Already, the top spot seems to be threatened by EA/Maxis' popular SimCity 3000. While being a late January release, SC3000 still made it into the number nine position on the list. With the strong showing the title has made on the weekly top-selling list, it may easily take over Baldur's seat at the top. Weekend roaming found that several retailers were sold out of SimCity 3000 along with an almost complete sellout on the first published SimCity 3000 strategy guide.
