January video game sales

The Sims goes straight to the top of NPD's video game sales chart for the month of January.

Comments

The PS2 version of The Sims claimed the number-one position on NPD's monthly video game sales chart for January, with The Getaway coming in a close second ahead of last month's number one, Vice City. Other new entries this month included Devil May Cry 2 and Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball.

The PlayStation 2 accounted for the first eight games in the top 10 this month, and it looks like Sony's online gaming must be proving popular with PS2 owners, because SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals moved up 13 places to the fifth position this month.
