Jaleco has officially announced Goblin Commander: Unleash the Horde, which is currently in development for consoles. In the game, a wizard named Fraziel takes the goblins under his control, disrupting the balance of power. With their own goblin army at their command, players will have to battle through a variety of locations in order to restore the balance and prevent the destruction of the world known as Ogriss. The project is being headed by Ron and Chris Millar, both of whom have worked on Starcraft, Warcraft, and Diablo from Blizzard.

"We're thrilled to be bringing one of today's hottest genres to console gamers around the world," said Chris Millar, producer. "Goblin Commander offers plenty of fun fighting and destruction yet has enough thought-provoking strategic and tactical elements to keep even the most hard-core RTS fan challenged and satisfied. It's a perfect blend of brains and brawn."

Goblin Commander: Unleash the Horde is scheduled for release in Q4 2003.
