Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced that Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is currently available at retailers. The platform game, which is available exclusively for the PlayStation 2, features massive worlds that can be seamlessly traversed by the game's characters. The game has been in development for three years, and Sony plans to use its considerable marketing muscle to promote the game. The company will launch a multimillion-dollar marketing campaign, which will include TV ads during shows such as The Simpsons and Fear Factor, print ads, and promotions in support of the game.

"We are thrilled to have one of the world's premier software developers on board to create Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, and the end result clearly reflects the caliber of the talent involved in the project,'' said Ami Blaire, director of product marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment America. "Naughty Dog has set a new precedent with Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, creating a completely unique and immersive entertainment experience that will stretch gamers' imaginations beyond expectations.''

Jak and Daxter was developed by Naughty Dog, which worked on all of the previous games in the Crash Bandicoot series.
