Interplay announced its operating results for the third quarter, ending September 30. It posted net revenues of US$23.6 million and a net loss of $17 million. Those numbers are similar to the company's 1998 report for Q3, when it posted revenues of $24.5 million and a net loss of $15.1 million. Interplay reports that the part of the loss was a result of restructuring costs, bad debts, and charges for cancelled games.

For the first three quarters of '99, Interplay reports $74.6 million in net revenues and a net loss of $32.2 million, compared with net revenues of $106.1 million and an $11.6 million net loss in the first nine months of '98.

With a $25 million equity investment from Titus, the company has pledged to revitalize itself and increase its focus on building titles for the console market.
