Interplay Lays the Academy to Rest

Starfleet Academy won't see the light of PlayStation day, but other PS titles are on track.

Comments

Interplay Productions has pulled Starfleet Academy for the PlayStation off the docket.

The game is currently available for the PC and was originally expected for the PlayStation sometime this year. Interplay sources say the PlayStation's 2MB system memory capabilities fall short of what would be needed to make the title work.

On the flip side, Interplay's other PlayStation titles are progressing as planned: VR Baseball is on target for the end of April, Power Boat is reportedly shipping today, and Crime Killer is expected by mid-May.
