Insomniac is branching out from Sony-exclusive development with the upcoming Overstrike, but it appears the studio's expansion plans may not end there. Recent trademark filings reveal applications for two possible new titles from the developer of the Resistance and Ratchet & Clank series.

As spotted by Siliconera, US Trademark Office filings from earlier this month reveal trademark requests for "Galaxy Beasts" and "Space Beasts," with Insomniac Games as the applicant. The studio is seeking use of the term in regard to "Entertainment services, namely, providing online video games."

There's no indication as to which Insomniac studio could be working on a project related to the applied-for trademarks. Insomniac Click, the studio's new mobile and Web/social network games division, has not announced its first title. The company's North Carolina studio shipped its first game, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, earlier this month; its second project has not yet been announced.
