Production company Blumhouse announced today that Insidious: Chapter 4 is in production and will premiere on October 27, 2017. In a statement, Blumhouse confirmed that much of the creative talent behind the previous chapters is returning for the fourth film, including series writer Leigh Whannell, who is writing this movie.

Jason Blum, Oren Peli, and Insidious co-creator James Wan are all working on the project as producers. Directing duties have been given to Adam Robitel, who made the independent horror movie The Taking of Deborath Logan.

Sony Pictures is financing the movie, with US distribution being overseen by Universal Pictures.

The first Insidious premiered in 2010, with sequels Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 arriving in 2013 and 2015 respectively. Chapter 3 made more than $110 million worldwide against a reported budget of $10 million, according to Box Office Mojo.
