Injustice: Gods Among Us coming to PS4, PS Vita

Ultimate Edition revealed for PS3, PS4, PS Vita, PC, and Xbox 360; launching November 12; no mention of Wii U or Xbox One.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition will be released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PC, and Xbox 360 on November 12, Sony announced today.

No mention was made of an Xbox One or Wii U version. The PS3, PS4, and Xbox 360 iterations will sell for $60, while the PC version will go for $50, and the PS Vita SKU for $40.

The Ultimate Edition features all previously released downloadable content for Injustice: Gods Among Us, including characters like Batgirl, General Zod, Martian Manhunter, and Zatanna.

The PS4 version was developed by High Voltage Software and will make use of touchpad functionality and video sharing and streaming.

The PS Vita iteration of Injustice: Gods Among Us was handled by Armature Studio, the Austin, Texas company founded by former members of Metroid shop Retro Studios. Armature is also working on Batman: Arkham Origins - Blackgate for the PS Vita and 3DS.

"When developing Injustice on Vita, our primary goal was to make sure it could hold its own next to its console counterpart," said PlayStation digital platforms senior director Jack Buser. "The PS3 version has beautiful lighting, destructible environments, and--most importantly--60 FPS fighting. We worked tirelessly to bring this experience to the handheld, and pulled out all the stops to push the PS Vita as hard as we could to make all of the above happen."

The PS Vita version of Injustice: Gods Among Us will also feature ad-hoc multiplayer, traditional multiplayer through WiFi, and touch controls for Story Mode and various S.T.A.R. Labs Missions.

May want to change the headline for the article to include ultimate edition seeing how that's the reason for it.

Did Wii U version get DLC on the eshop? If not wouldn't it make sense to release this version on the Wii U as well?

At this rate is clear DC and WB favor Sony overall, first DCUO and so far Injustice will both have PS4 versions, and yet no Xbox One insight.

Definitely picking it up for the Vita and possibly for the PS4, as long as there is a noticeable graphical enhancement.

We all saw this a mile away. Thanks you MK. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on you two times.

I knew I was holding out on this game for some reason. It's probably going to have a bit of a downgrade like Mortal Kombat, but I'd rather have it play smooth and look a little worse than be a frame rate fiasco like Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

so how will they enhance the graphics on PS4??? the game is already running in native 1080p @60fps on all 3 systems it has been released by now...

all i can think of is improoved realtime lighting??? or maybe better AA?

but that still won't make it a good fighting game... i would be more happy about a PS4 version of Ultra SF4.

Might get for PS4 now. Didn't buy this game but I will need a fighting game to hold me off before inFamous SS and Guilty Gear Xrd. Hopefully my arcade stick will work on PS4

A small thing but why do Gamespot always not mention the PC release in the title? You keep doing it... what is this console fanboyism?

It's happened a number of times now.

So does that mean the vita version is the same as the ps3 version?

So this is the complete edition? If I find out that there will  be more disc lock characters then I still want nothing to do with this game.

I knew this would happen, but I'll still buy it anyway. Glad I skipped out on the first release.

@printice21 Just a normal : how the hell is this game to be playable on a keyboard?, We know you can use a Gamepad. But many use a keyboard. I don't get it?.

Cappuccin0

@Ra-Harakte yeah, and it'll probably be the same with MK10, but some of us just don't care. I still plan on getting the game at launch. By the time the "complete" edition comes out, I'll already have more than 20 bucks worth of play.

hairdie

@kabalzer0  already runs at native 1080p??? what are you talking about?? it is upscaled on 360 and ps3

canuckbiker
canuckbiker

@toddx77 If it's anything like Mortal Kombat, I wouldn't count on it. They usually need to downgrade the graphics a little so the frame rates don't stutter. I bet it will be just as much fun though.

SIDEFX1
SIDEFX1

@Class_Act998675 Is that because you don't want to spend $5. I think gaming might be difficult for peeps in a few years that think similar to yourself.

willzihang
willzihang

@canuckbiker @willzihang Yes, but that's not my point. I think it would be considered strange if the title didn't mention the PS$, but it did other platforms.

Cloud7794
Cloud7794

@SIDEFX1 I think it's more like this: DLC is a means to keep a game fresh by providing additional content not available at launch. Companies do (or at least did) this to provide a way to continue working on and improving the game for a while, and some of those improvements would help generate extra income. A game with on-disc DLC, however, means the company had it all already done, but

1) Did not feel like continuing work on the game

2) Felt that it'd be easier to have people pay for the game, and then charge them extra for something they already bought.

3) They don't plan on doing anything substantial for the game beyond what has already been done before they even released it.

On-disc DLC on a game can really show how much a company is committed to providing additional content to their games. A game like that will more than likely get no new characters beyond what has been already done, so the company will lock a few behind a purchasable unlock key to give the impression of continued support.

tightwad34
tightwad34

@kabalzer0 It's a nitpick, but it's not spelled improoved. With that, I've made tons of spelling mistakes without editing. And I really can't tell that English is your second language as your sentence structure is better than a lot of people who have it as their first. BTW, what's your first language?

Cloud7794
Cloud7794

@SIDEFX1 @Cloud7794 What bothers me isn't the increased price, it's the lack of commitment from the company. Like I said, DLC can help keep a game fresh and growing. On-disc DLC, however, means the company will most likely not even work on the game any more after launch (except for maybe balance patches and whatnot). Because they won't get that extra money rolling in after launch, though, they actually remove parts of the final product and make people pay extra for it.

Think about ordering a meal from Burger King. They hand you your burger, fries, and drink. You take a few bites of your burger and try to take a drink, but then they stop you and tell you that you have to pay extra to >actually eat< your fries and drink your drink. That's the premise I'm coming from. It's not about the money, but about how it's easily an underhanded way to do business.

SIDEFX1
SIDEFX1

@Cloud7794 @SIDEFX1 The thing is DLC does not bother nor do I care about price or think how much a game should be just because I pay the around the same price for a game for a few years. however, prices go up on everything, EVERYTHING and games are no exception to me.
