ABC has announced Touchstone Television and mobile gamemaker Gameloft are entering into a partnership to develop, publish, and distribute mobile games based on the network's shows Lost and Desperate Housewives. The games will appear in early 2007.
"Gameloft is proud to partner with ABC Entertainment and Touchstone Television to bring the popular Desperate Housewives and Lost series to mobile gamers," said Michel Guillemot, president of Gameloft. "We are excited to develop and deliver games based on these shows to over 1 billion mobile users worldwide."
"Both Lost and Desperate Housewives have loyal and dedicated fans, and we are excited to be able to bring them more ways to interact and engage with their favorite shows and characters," said Bruce Gersh, senior vice president of business development at ABC Entertainment and Touchstone Television. "We look forward to working together with Gameloft to develop games that capture the defining essence of each show."
Gameloft is reportedly working with the writers of both shows to ensure the games dovetail accurately with the plots of the series, while adding some new elements only for gamers. The Paris-based company recently released a mobile game based on Fox's The OC, which featured character likenesses in minigames.
Guillemot told Hollywood Reporter that neither Lost nor Desperate games will feature character likenesses.
Lost and Desperate Housewives are going into games in a big way, as Ubisoft (the parent company of Gameloft) is also readying a Lost game for consoles; in addition, Buena Vista Games will soon ship a PC game based on Housewives.
They've lost some housewives!?!?!?! Wait....there's a ',' there, I see. Lost & Desperate Housewives... Oh, and everyone. I care! Really, I do. This is big news for me...Ok maybe not, but it is news to do with games, games that may be very successful due to the brands which the represent, so it's news to someone.

There are no good games on the Cell phone. Once more Cell-phones are not designed to be gaming machines anyways. so cell-phone games = pointless.
Ohh man, I can't wait! I'm saving up all myu cash for these games. I hear that the Desperate Houswives game will be like a cross between Grand Theft Auto and God of War. It will let you whatever you want like the GTA games, but have a much better fighting system, which we all know sucked in the GTA games. Haven't heard much about the Lost game, but i figure it would be an adventure game. Who knows.
This is the price we pay to have gaming become mainstream and accepted. I think I preferred it when gamers were seen as geeks and nerds .. at least didn't have to put up with dross like this. Ultimately, we get to vote with our wallets and I know I won't be shelling out for this. Hopefully it will disappear without a trace and other such "ideas" will be left on the drawing boards.

This is a lot more interesting than the other games announced about Lost and Desperate Housewives. I'm sure the console Lost game and the PC Desperate Housewives game will not be too good. But for the mobile, that sounds promising. Games like these belong on the mobile. Not on the console or PC. Good move by Gameloft.

oh please god no. Housewives, whatever, not only is that show crap, how in the hell would a game be based on it wtf, that doesnt even make sense. As for lost, its easily the best show on TV right now, please, please, for the love of god dont ruin that.
I'm definately going to get the LOST game from ubisoft that's going to the consoles. Desperate Housewives is overated and Eva Longoria is overated. It's all about teri hatcher.
