Ubi Soft has released a downloadable upgrade for IL-2 Sturmovik, its award-winning World War II flight combat game. The version 1.1 upgrade adds 10 new aircraft to the simulation, including four German and six Soviet fighters, along with other new features and refinements. The new upgrade can be downloaded from the links below.

IL-2 Sturmovik was released last November and received GameSpot's award for best simulation for 2001. The game re-creates air battles from World War II's eastern front, and it lets players control a number of different Russian and German aircraft in a variety of missions. Missions include air-to-air combat, air-to-ground combat, search and destroy, and escort scenarios. The game's multiplayer mode supports up to 32 players in dogfights or up to 16 players in a cooperative squadron.

IL-2 Sturmovik was developed by 1C:Maddox Games. For more information, read our full review of the game.
