Codemasters reveals that its eagerly anticipated first-person shooter won't be in stores before February 2003.

Codemasters has today confirmed that the release date for IGI 2: Covert Strike has been pushed back from November this year to February 2003. The news was broken to fans in a Project IGI: I'm Going In , which was released in December 2000. In the game, players assume the role of a special agent named David Jones, who specializes in carrying out missions that require a stealthy approach rather than a huge arsenal of firearms. There'll be plenty of weapons in the game, of course, but they're intended for use only when combat is unavoidable.

Missions in the game will see players visiting locations as diverse as Libya, China, Russia, Romania, and the Ukraine. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the game.
