iGames Publishing has announced that it will publish Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi, a survival-horror-style first-person action game in development at the Swedish studio Idol FX. Nosferatu puts players in an ancient gothic castle where their friends and family are being held captive by vampires. The random level generator will change the layout of locations and the placement of characters for every game, and players can explore different parts of the castle in any order.

Combat is a core part of the nonlinear gameplay, and there are a number of vampire-hunting weapons to use, such as holy water, crucifixes, and wooden stakes, plus old-fashioned flintlock guns. Certain powerful vampires can be harmed only with specific weapons, which forces players to vary their tactics.

"Nosferatu is the perfect blend of terror and action and will appeal to fans of both genres," said Rick Bosch, CEO of iGames Publishing. "Is there a better place for gamers to spend the night than in a castle full of vampires?"

Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi will be released this fall, in time for Halloween.
