Idea Factory Announces Global Folktale for the PlayStation 2

Idea Factory has announced that it is currently developing a fantasy-based simulation RPG for the PlayStation 2. Global Folktale takes place in a divided continent where animals have taken over. The humans take refuge in a faraway land and cast a protective spell over that land, allowing them to live in peace.

Global Folktale begins in simulation mode, where characters are selected and equipped with armor and weapons and then set in battle formations. On the field map, different routes and locations are displayed. Once you select one of the locations, the game switches into battle mode. Everything from dungeons and environments to characters is rendered in polygonal 3D. The battles take place in real time, and players can either move their characters on their own or give them commands.

Global Folktale for the PS2 has yet to receive a release date and pricing in Japan. US release plans have not been released.
