The changing face of the web forces sites to constantly reinvent themselves to make sure that they can get information to members and the millions of info seekers who roam around. id's web site, however, hasn't really lived up to the world beyond Doom. That is until last Friday, when id had a major makeover that has everyone talking.

The site employs a good deal of JavaScript for standard navigation and on the top page runs a Java script that tells web surfers exactly what's new at id. And the site takes on a completely new perspective with all the Quake-inspired art gracing the corners of id's lair.

Eager Quake II fans will find some new pictures of creatures, a hidden area with a new shot, and a picture of a level editor.

Other goodies on the site include a new version of GLQuake for the 3Dfx video card and new QuakeWorld 2.0 software. Tonight is going to be a big Quake night.
