ICO arrives at retailers

Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced the release of ICO for the PlayStation 2. The adventure game combines elements of action, exploration, and puzzles into its gameplay. In the game, players assume the role of young hero name Ico, who must rescue a princess from the clutches of an evil queen and vanquish the evil spirits that reside within the game's primary castle setting.

"ICO utilizes the technology and power of PlayStation 2 to deliver a riveting storyline featuring breathtakingly brilliant landscapes, intriguing characters, and spectacular lighting effects,'' said Ami Blaire, director of product marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment America. "Gamers will truly enjoy this unique interactive experience filled with complex puzzles and adventure, featuring graphics so realistic gamers will find it difficult to differentiate reality from fantasy.''

ICO is developed internally by Sony and is exclusive to the PS2.
