Interplay has today announced that it will release a new version of Hunter: The Reckoning--which was released for the Xbox and GameCube last year--for the PlayStation 2 this summer.

Hunter: The Reckoning Wayward will boast a number of new features, the most obvious of which is the addition of a fifth playable character. Details on the new character are being kept a secret at this time, but, according to Interplay, the new hunter is a deadly psychotic of some description. Other features for the PS2 game include the introduction of Hunter Headquarters, which will allow players to switch characters and weapons between levels, and an entirely new story.

"We are thrilled to bring the Hunter: The Reckoning franchise to PlayStation 2 consumers with an all-new gaming experience," said Jim Molitor, vice president of production for Interplay. "The team has enjoyed stepping up to the challenge and surpassing the previous Hunter experience to make this a unique experience for this platform."

Hunter: The Reckoning Wayward is scheduled for release this summer. For more information, check out our full reviews of the Xbox and Xbox versions of the game.
