Targeting novice, intermediate, and hardcore players, the fantasy-themed game features a learning component called "Chess Adventure" and eight scenarios in which players must take on increasingly challenging puzzles and quests in the role of a lone king, all the while building their own chess set as a reward.

Also featured are a variety of modes, online play, and AI opponents with 24 different "personalities."
