Despite the title, in the early chapters of Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth Ichiban Kasuga and his crew will be strapped for cash. While there are plenty of options for making money early on, the majority of these don't pay out a ton, but there are a few efficient ways to grind for cash and a few ways to save yourself some money. Here are the best ways to make money in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Collect everything

There are items to be collected everywhere in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. While some of the items you find, like plates, are worth a decent amount of money at the local pawn shop, the biggest boon here is collecting crafting resources, health items, and even weapons. Collecting these items in the open world, especially health items and weapons, means you don't need to spend money on buying these things. Items can be found in shiny spots and metal cases on the ground, in dumpsters, underneath cars, and even in the ocean. Keep your eyes peeled as you explore the open world.

Fight, fight, fight

You can't completely avoid random battles in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and beating down enemies can be lucrative. The enemies just wandering the streets don't give the largest amount of money, but there are a few ways to boost this. First, head to the Shrine located in the northwestern part of the map. You will be introduced to this early in the game, where you collect fortunes around Hawaii and exchange them for prizes. One of the earliest prizes is the Lucky Money Charm, which boosts money won from fights by 0.1%. It's not the biggest boost, but over time it makes a difference.

It also benefits you to know which fights will award you more money. The miscellaneous fights are fine, but taking on special enemies, which are indicated by a crown over the enemy icon, typically award much larger cash rewards. After you reach a certain level, enemies will start having a blue enemy icon, which indicates they are significantly lower level than your party. When you encounter these enemies, you get the option to initiate an almost instant victory, which still awards the normal money and XP rewards, essentially resulting in free money.

Lastly, you will be introduced to the Hawaii Dungeon a few chapters into the game. This dungeon offers a great place to level up your party, and find a large amount of resources inside of. On top of all of that, it's also a great place to earn some extra cash. The enemies in the dungeon are a little tougher, but also offer much larger rewards for beating them. There are also a few boss fights scattered throughout the dungeon, who give pretty hefty cash rewards for beating.

Gotta Catch 'em All

The various side stories and side activities in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth offer a ton of great rewards, but when it comes to earning money, Sujimon is the way to go. This side activity unlocks in chapter 4 as is basically a whole Pokemon journey smushed into an optional side activity. There are a few different ways to make money from this activity. The first is doing the Sujimon raid battles, which can be found around Hawaii, all set on a timer. These raids always feature a miniboss-like enemy that you must beat in a traditional battle. The cash rewards on these fights are pretty solid and you get a chance to catch the enemy to use yourself.

The other way to make money is from trainer battles, where you do a 3v3 Sujimon battle against. The Rookie trainers that you start out against don't pay very much for beating, but once you beat the first of the Discreet Four, your Sujimon's level cap is raised and you can take on Bronze trainers, who pay better. Since Sujimon battles are their own thing, you can more or less advance all the way through this side activity without having to worry about your actual party's level. Getting up to Silver, Gold, and even Platinum trainers will give you a chance at some pretty hefty cash rewards.
