The upcoming Warcraft fantasy movie will blend live-action and CGI, but how much of the movie is real and how much is digitally created? That's the question one fan posted to director Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) recently.

"I would say that we fit somewhere between Planet of the Apes, Fellowship of the Ring, and Avatar," Jones explained on Twitter. Those movies were praised for the way in which they blended live-action and CGI, meaning Warcraft has a lot to live up to.

Thankfully for Jones, he has award-winning Star Wars effects studio Industrial Light & Magic in his corner, doing the work to bring Warcraft's CGI scenes to life. Jones previously described his movie as "Avatar and Lord of the Rings at the same time" as it relates to special effects.

The Warcraft movie was originally scheduled to launch December 16, 2015, but was delayed after Disney announced that Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens would also be released on that day. The movie is now slated to come to theaters in March 2016.

Filming has already wrapped up and Jones is now working on post-production and various promotional initiatives for the picture. Part of that effort is speaking out directly with fans about his ambitions for the movie, which he's been actively doing on Twitter. See below for a selection of his recent comments about the film, which touch on subjects such as the poor history of movies based on video games.
