Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational to be ported to PS3

PS3 version of Vita golf game to feature cross-play option, Move support, and two new modes.

Virtual golf nuts will soon be able to play the PlayStation 3 version of Vita golf title Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational.

Fore!

According to Japanese magazine Famitsu, the PS3 version will be called "Minna no Golf 6" (or Hot Shots Golf 6). This version will feature PlayStation Move motion controller support as well as cross-play support with the Vita version. The DLC that was previously available for the Vita version will be available for free in the PS3 version.

In addition, the game will have two new modes: slot mode and "minna no short course" mode. The former allows players to spin a slot to gain field bonuses depending on what combination they get during a match. The latter is possibly the franchise's take on minigolf, where each course will be smaller than usual.

The Japanese version of the game will be out on November 22. A release date for the North American or European version has yet to be announced. For more information, check out GameSpot's review of the Vita title.

i think it's bad for the vita that most of its games are playable on ps3.  kind of hard to sell something when you make its content  available  on an existing device.

nothing against crossplay, but the focus should be placed on giving ppl a reason to buy a vita.

It'll sell more on a system that is actually not a flop, now port Gravity Rush.

I really enjoyed the portable version of the game. Killed a great deal of time while traveling by bus. I think it removes some of the magic when you confined to play it on a console let alone who really wants to use a move to play it?

But then again to each their own.

It's hard to tell which parts apply to the US and which apply to Japan. The US version of World Invitational doesn't have any DLC, for example. Minna no Golf 5 got a great Move control patch, but I don't think that patch ever made it to the US or EU version, did it? So, will Move support for 6 be for all versions this time? And does this mean the US/EU versions of World Invitational are getting some DLC at some point?

This is one of those series like Monster Hunter that's super popular in Japan, but never quite conquered the other markets. I feel like I'm reading the news for the Japanese version, somehow, and that it may or may not have any bearing on what happens in English.

Hope it hits the EU quick smart - I love these golf titles!!
