Interplay Entertainment and 14 Degrees East have announced that Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising has gone gold and will soon be available in stores. The game was developed by Rage Software, and it lets players command a powerful group of futuristic combat vehicles. It combines the tactical combat found in many real-time strategy games with an option to directly control any friendly units first-hand as the pilot. When players relinquish control of a specific unit, control of that unit will revert back to the game's artificial intelligence.

The game takes place in the future at a time in which the powerful nations of the world are at peace. A group is working to undermine that peace, though, and the only way to stop them is to take control of a large carrier and production vehicle called the Antaeus. The Antaeus can build war vehicles that can be controlled by special chips that contain the minds of deceased pilots. If a vehicle is destroyed, the chip can immediately be plugged into a different vehicle.

Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising will be available in stores later this month for an approximate retail price of $39.99. For more information, try the playable demo linked below, and take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
