The announcement comes just days before Halloween.
Independent developer Red Barrels on Thursday officially announced Outlast II, a sequel to the 2013 first-person survival horror game. Check out a teaser trailer below, which features an upside down, burning cross, while a narrator recites a Bible passage from the Book of Revelations. It's definitely creepy.

Outlast II is slated to launch in fall 2016. The game aims to take players on a "twisted new journey into the depths of the human mind and its dark secrets."
"No conflict is ever black and white. But once the dust has settled, the victors get to decide who was right and who was wrong," reads a line from the game's description. "Who is good and who is evil. Human nature pushes us to extremes of violence and depravity, which we then justify by divine inspiration and a promise of paradise to come. Horror rises from desperation and blind faith. Outlast 2 will test your faith, pushing players to a place where going mad is the only sane thing to do."
Platforms for Outlast II were not announced. The original Outlast was released first on PC, before coming later to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. That game also welcomed an expansion pack called Whistleblower.
