TOKYO--Mobile Suit Gundam Z: AEUG vs. Titans, Bandai’s latest Japanese PS2 release, stormed to the top of the sales charts this week with 352,472 units sold. Bandai’s giant robots handily outpaced its nearest competition, Gran Turismo 4: Prologue, which also launched this week. GT4:P settled for second place with sales of 179,539.

According to a spokesman in Bandai’s Tokyo headquarters, the hit game will be released in the U.S. as well, but he did not reveal the date.

Mobile Suit Gundam Z: AEUG vs. Titans is the latest installment in the robot combat series that last came to the U.S. with Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon in the fall of 2002. The game brings online support to the series for the first time, allowing gamers at home to enjoy the team-based play that has made the game a hit in Japanese arcades.
