Hideo Kojima, Silent Hills Added to Goat Simulator Credits

Goat Simulator developer Coffee Stain Studios has revised the wacky game's credits to include Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima under its "Many Special Thanks" section. He's featured there alongside Kojima Productions and Silent Hills, a company and a game, respectively, that are facing challenges of late.

Coffee Stain posted the image you see below to its Facebook page today with a caption referencing the tough times Kojima is currently facing. "We heard that Hideo Kojima was removed from the credits for Metal Gear Solid V so we added him to the credits for Goat Simulator," Coffee Stain wrote.

The studio also invited Kojima to come work with Coffee Stain.

To be clear, although Konami has removed Kojima's name from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain promotional material, it remains to be seen if the publisher has also wiped his name from the game's credits. That would be a major move, considering he is the creator of the entire franchise.

Adding Kojima's name to the Goat Simulator credits is certainly strange, but then again, this is Goat Simulator we're talking about. We've followed up with Coffee Stain, asking for more details.

Kojima and Konami are reportedly in the midst of a power struggle, with Kojima apparently planning to exit the company after The Phantom Pain is released in September. There have been many developments in the strange situation; you can catch up on everything that's happened through this timeline of events.

Just last week, Konami officially announced the cancellation of Silent Hills, development for which was to be led by Kojima and Pan's Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro. The game's free playable teaser, P.T., was removed from the PlayStation Store later that week.

As for what's going on with Konami, we may have more answers soon. The Japanese publisher is scheduled to hold an earnings briefing tomorrow, May 8, where it may also discuss its future plans for the Metal Gear Solid series and what role Kojima may play.
