The long-running Might and Magic franchise is going to be running a bit longer, as Ubisoft today announced Heroes of Might and Magic V: Tribes of the East. The game is being developed by Nival Interactive and will be released on the PC this fall.

A stand-alone product, Tribes of the East is the conclusion to the current storyline, which sees the Necrolord Arantir discovering the prophecy of the Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and revealing the Demon Sovereign's conspiracy. The "multi-layered plot" will be further enriched by characters from Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, the first-person game from Arkane Studios.

As part of the Heroes of Might and Magic series, Tribes of the East will be a turn-based strategy game, requiring players to build armies and manage cities. New to this installment is the orc faction, which includes goblins, cyclopes, pao kais, and orcs.

In addition to the new single-player campaign, gamers can battle each other on 10 multiplayer maps. New spells, buildings, and features expand gameplay, and each creature in the game has been given a new upgrade level that grants it special bonuses.
