Heroes IV patch adds multiplayer

3DO releases a version 2.0 update for Heroes of Might and Magic IV that adds competitive multiplayer modes.

3DO has released a significant update for Heroes of Might and Magic IV that adds multiplayer to the game. The new multiplayer component supports up to six players and has third-party matchmaking support. There are six maps specifically for multiplayer play, and any of the scenario maps with two or more starting positions can also be selected for matches. The 8.3MB patch also makes a number of minor general changes to the game. GameSpot Complete members can download the file from the link below.

Heroes of Might and Magic IV, which was released last March, is the latest installment in a popular series that adapts the fantasy world of the Might and Magic role-playing games to turn-based strategy mechanics. For more details, read our full review of the game.
